Male Gaze Theory

The male gaze theory is one that deals with how an audience views the people presented. The person who came up with this theory is a women called Laura Mulvey. She believes that in film audiences have to view characters from of a heterosexual male.

When creating the male gaze the camera must linger on curves of the female body. Events which occur to women are presented largely in the context of a mans reaction to what has happened.
