This is my plan for my front cover of my music magazine. I have based this on what other music magazines in this genre have done. I have followed the codes and conventions of these type of magazine front covers. I have put the main picture in the middle as this is what i want to do and this is what other magazines i have looked at have done. The masthead will go straight across so that it stands out. I was thinking of overlapping the picture with the sub heading but i thought thats not what i want. So in some ways i have gone against the conventions of some music magazines. There are also subheadings and lures down the side to add extra information and to try and attract the audience to buy the magazine. Finally at the bottom their is the barcode price and date/month of release. This is what all magazines have.

This is my plan for my contents page. At the top we have the contents page heading like most magazines. Then down the left i have the current top 10 songs and albums out. Ihave done this as this is part of my genre and showing the current music at the start is what i would like. It also matches with some of music magazines that i have looked at. Then i have two pictures of main stories within my magazine and then i have put the page number with the picture. Finally i am going to put the remaining of the important stories on the contents with the headlines their next to the page number.

This is my double page spread plan for my music magazine. I have followed the codes and conventions for this and put a picture over the whole page but the main picture on one side and the article over the remaining background. The article will have the headline and then the text on the story.

We will look into this further but your double page spread plan needs to be more detailed - How many columns of text are you having? Are you including a picture? If so where? Is the headline going on the left or right? Same with the standfirst - a sentence that typically introduces the article (you will see this in your examples that you are researching) A drop cap for the start letter?
