Analysing two music mag contents pages

This is the contents page to billboard magazine. At the top of the page we have the main heading Contents. This is their so that the audience knows what page they are on. It also makes the page more aesthetically pleasing and organised. Below the the contents heading their is a blue strip with the issue number on it. This shows professionalism in my opinion. Then we have the main image next to the contents. This image is usually the same one that is on the front of the magazine but it can differ. It sometimes also has a double page spread on that artist or band. Then we have subsidiary images below the contents heading. This gives the audience more information on what is in the magazine. We have titles for each feature on the contents page. This has also got more information about this article below. This information is summarised. At the bottom there are promotional features. These features are their to show where the website is and any special offers of products. At the side we have the charts for thge top singles and albums out at the time of release. This is a feature that is connected with this magazine. Next to the page titles and the subsidiary images their are page numbers for where that story is in the magazine. Finally at the top the magazine logo is placed. This in sense personalises the page to their liking.

This tells the audience when it was released and what page there are on. It is also set out in the way Q want all the magazines to be set out like. It is their type of house style. Then we have the main picture that covers most of the page. This is also numbered which tells the audience what page the article on the artist or band is on. Below that is the review section. This section is part of all Q magazine contents pages and this is part of their house style as it is part of the structure of the magazine. Down the left we have all of the features in the issue. We can see that the most important features are there including the oasis special which is surrounded in gold lining. This shows the audience that this is special with the colouring. Finally bottom left we have the names of the features that are in Q magazine every week and there are numbered also so that the audience can find what page the feature is on.
